Flying or falling

Here are a couple flying or falling images... to leaven and lighten the heavy and often fun/creepy mutant babies usually posted here. These are also good examples of just how far you can push source material.  Photographs of my IMAC, running a documentary on Leni Riefenstahl via Netflix.  Specifically the portion on divers from HER documentary, Olympiad.
Which makes these a copy/reworking of a copy/reworking of the original.

The images were/are in black and white with all color added by pushing contrast and over saturating what was imbedded in the image... and then sharpening it to add intensity.  The lines across the image, prominent in the first image, are a natural byproduct of shooting a computer screen as it plays a non web image... just like a photo of a TV screen will show the black lines our eyes don't see.  I seek these lines of distortion in my work, first because I love distortion and second...  it adds to the impact of the image.  In this first one it seems the rays of distortion are pushing the figure across the screen.

Flying: blue sky
Flying: rose sky
I also purposefully took most of the dark tones (black) from the flyers pushing them towards white...makes them LESS sinister which seems to be called for... and also gives them a blank slate quality.  The viewer then can fill in whatever else they want to see
